Title: How does this even work / is even allowed? (*question)

Question
Are NexCON okay with this "private" version of their game being peddled?... Or should players be keeping schtum about Windictus?

Is this version from back when players could run consecutive bosses in Manila, like an adventure game -- where campfires, armour repairs etc. actually meant something?

How long will Windictus possibly last -- is it worth pumping hours into it, or will players' hard work be rubbed out if/when some gestapo goons shut the fun and games down?

Is it possible to acquire version of Windictus that works in LAN -- to reduce lag and for players to play privately?

(thanks)

Its an discontinued version of theirs so nexcrap wont be going all too hard on this. Lan gameplay is impossible simply due ro possibillity of cheating and item dupe/adding. Cant be verified as rightful drops etc.

Windictus will last as long as we can support the server costs with donations.
I have no plans of closing down Windictus ever, unless I'm financially unable to keep it running.

I was referring to a private 'version' of Windictus, that runs and is played separately to the server reliant game (i.e., using non-compatible save profiles), where cheating or whatever is up to the players participating and is isolated from others' gameplay experience.

Specifically, a game version that is playable into perpetuity; as distinct from one that is subject to the whims of servers/server costs and inevitable shut-downs.  My whole pet peeve with Vindictus (lit., why I've always free-loaded), and putting the repugnant business practices of NexCON aside, has always been the impending closure of its servers (the Western ones, at least), and any inve$tments made into the game then being for naught.

If the game had a version that had LAN multiplayer (or P2P mutiplayer) compatibility, it would more incentivise time-investment -- as the game would work, in theory, for aye; and players' hard work would not be eventually erased from existence. Idea

What?
The game IS p2p multiplayer. All battle boats have ALWAYS been p2p multiplayer since Vindictus launched.

In fact you only want tve server files to host your own windictus to the public masses since ours is bug free?

From what I understand the guy is asking for his own private server that only him and maybe his friends will participate and can do whatever they want to, ie getting any stuff they want, infinite health, max level instantly, etc, without affecting to other players. But my guess is it's impossible unless he's making his own private server.

Which brings up my questions, since before I found out Windictus I came across some thread that guide us to set up our own private server. I wanna make one just for me and my friends to play only, but I've never done one before and it was too much work so I abandon the thought, then I found you guys. Anyway, the questions are: is it hard to set up a server like this and how costly it is to maintain one? Sorry if I dig this up since it's 2 months old already.
