You can help by testing all skills on all characters, and reporting any bugs or unintended effects on Discord.

First, download the full Windictus client from: https://windictus.net/downloads
  • If your internet is unstable and won't let you download the entire client all at once, you can download the client in smaller parts one at a time by downloading the Windictus Split Client
After your download is complete, use WinRAR to extract the archive to anywhere you want (preferably your SSD).
  • The archive extraction password is: windictus
  • If you don't have WinRAR, you can download it from here: https://www.win-rar.com/predownload.html?&L=0
  • If WinRAR says your archive is corrupted when you try to extract it, please try redownloading Windictus using a Download Manager (such as this one)
Once the archive has finished extracting, launch Windictus.exe to start the client.
  • You will need .NET Framework 4.5.1 or higher to run the launcher
  • If you don't have it, you can download it from: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/do...-installer
  • Add the launcher (Windictus.exe) to your AV's exception list if your AV detects it as a virus (false positive), or if you can't find Windictus.exe at all (your AV probably already deleted it, so you'll need to add the folder to your AV's exception list)

Introduction

Welcome to Windictus, by registering an account in-game or on the forum, you agree to the information found within this thread. A few notes to begin:

The terms listed within are subject to change without notice, major changes may be announced but there is no guarantee. It is your responsibility to check this thread frequently for updates. A changelog is provided at the bottom of this thread.

Ban durations serve as a guideline for how long a person may generally be banned for breaking that specific rule, they are not a guarantee that you will be banned for that duration. It is ultimately up to the moderator who bans you as to how long you are banned for. No two moderators are the same. Tread carefully.

Offenses will be broken down into 'major' and 'minor' game disruptions. More information below.
Just because a moderator chose to be lenient with one person does not mean they have to choose to be lenient with you. Favoritism is another topic, any suspicion of favoritism should be reported immediately. Ignorance of the information provided here will never serve as an excuse. The following rules/terms will be broken down into two sections, 'major' and 'minor' game disruptions. 'Major' game disruptions will always result in a permanent ban on the first offense. 'Minor' game disruptions will vary based on the general ban durations, and the moderator who handles your ban.


Major Game Disruptions

Hacking

Hacking is defined as any attempt to alter the Vindictus files or the Windictus client. Any use of packet editors, trainers, or other hack tools is strictly forbidden. Any attempts to edit hfs files (hfs modding) is also strictly forbidden.

Real World Trade/Real Money Trade

Any attempts to purchase/sell your Windictus items for currency for real currency, possessions, or currency/items in other games is strictly forbidden.

Market Manipulation

Any attempts to manipulate the economy for your own gain will result in a permanent ban. This includes but not limited to; conspiring with other members to raise prices of an item drastically, while other said member pretends to purchase said item.

Bug Abuse & Exploiting

All bugs should be reported. Any major bugs or exploits should be reported privately to a staff member immediately. Any attempts to abuse or take advantage of a bug or exploit are strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban.


Minor Game Disruptions

Botting

We have no quick and reliable way to tell whether you are using macro or botting tools, or just not paying attention. It is your responsibility to respond to players and staff. If you fail to respond, you will be banned. 

*You will generally be banned for 30 days on the first offense, 90 days on the second offense, and permanently on the third offense for botting. *

Harassment

Harassment is by nature a very subjective term. It is simple, please be nice to your fellow players. Everyone loses their temper sometimes. Please do not attempt to harass a player to the point they feel it is necessary to report you. Duration of punishment varies based of the number of offense and the moderator handling the harassment.

Impersonation

Any attempts to impersonate a staff member or another player are forbidden. Bans will depend on the severity of the case.

Discussion of botting/hacks

Discussion of hacks or bots is not allowed. If you are found discussing such things, you will be banned. Depending on what the moderator handling your case feels, you may be banned permanently. This is a very 'flex' rule, meaning it will depend heavily on what was said, and who is banning you.

Advertising

Discussion of other Vindictus private servers, 'Black Markets' (i.e. RMT websites), websites that advertise hacks or bots for games in general, etc. is strictly forbidden. Advertising such things over megaphones will, generally, be a permanent ban.

Advertising social media is not allowed, linking twitch streams or "add me on <some service>" over megaphones will usually result in a 24 hour ban. Streaming Windictus is permitted, however you are only allowed to advertise TwitchTV or YouTube links in the Gallery section of the forums, or your signature on the forums. Anywhere else is disallowed.

Rumors

Any attempts to start rumors about a person, or the server, is forbidden; for example: stating that there is a wipe. In addition, rumor violations should always be reported to the appropriate staff. This rule is very subjective, meaning a moderator may choose to not ban a person or to ban them permanently depending on the situation.

Account sharing

Sharing accounts at all is not allowed, if you lose items or lose access to your account due to sharing your information you will not be compensated. Bans will vary based on the situation.

Fake bidding

Fake bidding is when a seller says someone offered on an item that they didn't in an attempt to raise the current offer. Fake bidding is also knowingly bidding on an item with no intention to buy it, again, in an attempt to raise the current offer. Both of these things are not allowed.

Megaphone Spam

Spam using the Megaphone system is not allowed. This includes all types of megaphones. Using megaphones to harass other players and/or staff are not allowed. Using megaphones to spread false info or false sales are subject to punishment based off the moderator handling the issue. Ban duration may vary.

Forum Rules

The following rules apply specifically to the forum. All of the rules above apply to the forum as well.

Please construct posts and threads in English only. Posts/threads in other languages will be deleted. Private Messages and visitor messages in other languages are allowed.
Explicit content, i.e. nudity, drugs, violence, hateful content, etc. will be deleted. Avatars containing nudity will be removed.
Please post in the correct sections. Posts may be moved otherwise.
Please keep your signature reasonable, large images will be resized or deleted.
Please do not create posts with the sole purpose to flame or insult a user.
Stay on topic; off topic posts will be deleted, and you may be infracted.
You are limited to one 'bump' per thread per 24 hours.
Do not use URL shorteners, ad money generating or otherwise. Examples of this include bit.ly, goo.gl, adf.ly, bc.vc, etc.

Paid graphic services

Selling graphic design services in Windictus is allowed as long as you abide by the following criteria:
You post a thread in the Arts & Crafts sub-forum only, and make sure you note that it is not free work. You agree not to sell graphic design services for anything other than gold or items in Windictus, this means no real life currencies or items/currencies in other games as these types of exchanges are forbidden. 

Ban Appeal Policy

For each ban you are allowed one chance at appeal. An appeal may be denied for any reason, or for no reason at all. If you feel your ban was unjust after you've appealed and received a response, please contact a staff member privately. Do not expect an immediate reply, or at all. Spamming inboxes of staff members is a bad idea.

Compensation Policy

You are responsible for your account information. Sharing your information is strictly forbidden. If you share your information and lose access to your account or items because of it, you will not be compensated. All Crimson Token purchases are final (more information below), refunds will not be issued. Our servers encrypt user information and store it securely. If you share your account information you will not be compensated if you lose your items. If you are 'hacked', i.e. keylogged, phished, etc. and can prove it, we will attempt to recover your items. If you are scammed you may be compensated by the scammer, we will not compensate beyond that.
If you lose your items because of a bug, we usually will not compensate. We will decide on a case-by-case basis.

You agree not to sell graphic design services for anything other than gold or items in Windictus, this means no real life currencies or items/currencies in other games as these types of exchanges are forbidden. 

Ban Appeal Policy

For each ban you are allowed one chance at appeal. An appeal may be denied for any reason, or for no reason at all. If you feel your ban was unjust after you've appealed and received a response, please contact a staff member privately. Do not expect an immediate reply, or at all. Spamming inboxes of staff members is a bad idea.

Compensation Policy

You are responsible for your account information. Sharing your information is strictly forbidden. If you share your information and lose access to your account or items because of it, you will not be compensated. All Crimson Token purchases are final (more information below), refunds will not be issued. Our servers encrypt user information and store it securely. If you share your account information you will not be compensated if you lose your items. If you are 'hacked', i.e. keylogged, phished, etc. and can prove it, we will attempt to recover your items. If you are scammed you may be compensated by the scammer, we will not compensate beyond that.
If you lose your items because of a bug, we usually will not compensate. We will decide on a case-by-case basis.

Donation Policy 

Please be advised that Crimson Tokens are obtained via donations to Windictus; not a purchase. You are not entitled to a “refund” because you completed a donation out of courtesy.
Once Crimson Tokens are transferred to your game account your donation cannot be reversed. All Crimson Tokens obtained via donations are final. No return, exchange, price adjustments, or cancellations will be permitted. Please note that we have the right to suspend our game service at any time. You will not be entitled to a refund were this to happen.
We take fraud seriously, if you commit fraud and if we suspect that you are committing a fraud transaction, we notify the IC3 and refund the payment as soon as possible.

WinRAR password: windictus

I recommend using a download manager if your connection is unstable, or if WinRAR says the archive is corrupted when you try to open it.

After your download is complete, open Windictus.exe to launch the client.
If you can't find Windictus.exe, it probably means your AV detected it as a false positive and deleted it (so add your Windictus folder to the exceptions list).

Account registration is done through our Discord bot Tieve#3838
In order to register an account, you'll need to join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/hQ6a5bj
After you join our Discord server, send a Direct Message (DM) to Tieve#3838 with !register

You can change your secondary password in-game at any time by going to Menu -> Options -> Etc. -> "Set/Edit Secondary Password".
